How verification works on Mafimo
Mafimo uses Aadhaar offline verification, the route UIDAI provides for services that need to confirm identity without connecting to its central database. The data is digitally signed by UIDAI, so it cannot be edited. We keep the verification result and limited details, never the full 12-digit Aadhaar number.
Verification is also what unlocks contact details. Two people see each other’s phone numbers only after both have verified, which means a scammer cannot collect numbers by creating profiles.
What verification cannot tell you
A verified identity is a starting point, not a guarantee of intentions. Keep doing what careful families have always done:
